A Time and Season is Set For Everything!

It is the most influential book in all of civilization. It is by far the top bestseller of all time. This work has been translated the most in history. No other text has been read, discussed, or interpreted as much.

The book is the bible, the story of all stories. It is the story of civilization as it continues to unfold. It contains the manual for a utopian world, while also recording the consequences of choices made that are inconsistent with its timeless values.

At the dawn of Jewish history, we read an intriguing text regarding the pregnancy of Rebecca, the matriarch.

She is profoundly perturbed as her children struggled in her womb. So she seeks guidance from the spiritual mentor of the day.

“Two nations are in your womb, Two separate peoples shall issue from your body; One people shall be mightier than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”

As you can imagine, there are many explanations seeking to uncover the meaning of this cryptic text.

Jacob and Esau's struggle is explained by the mystics as the underlying tension that is embedded in our spiritual and psychological DNA.

In mystical terminology, it is the cosmic tension between the forces of 'Tohu' (chaos/confusion) and 'Tikun' (order/rectification).

To put it more simply, it's the struggle to maintain a healthy balance between the conflicting forces within each and every one of us.

'Tohu' represents our raw, untrained emotional drives operating in a self-centered manner. There is a lack of cohesion between opposing forces, both internally and externally.

Tikun is the cohesion of all our faculties achieved by knowing the right balance in each unique situation.

The prerequisite to achieving this state of harmony is humility. It is only when we are dedicated to a cause greater than ourselves that we can achieve cohesion and balance in our lives.

A time and season is set for everything!

‎‏A time for weeping and a time for laughing!

A time for embracing and a time shunning embracing!

A time for loving and a time for hating!

A time for war and a time for peace!

It is only when we align with Tikun that we can achieve discernment!
