Every Other Narrative Has Failed — Time to Tell Our Own

Rabbi Jonathan Sacks once asked Sir Isaiah Berlin to describe the Jew. His answer was simple and profound: “A Jew has a good sense of history.”
We are witnessing today the beginning of a paradigm shift. There is a profound spiritual realignment taking place among Jews in Israel and around the world—and it is happening in the non-Jewish world as well.
The overwhelming majority of hostages who have returned have demonstrated a profound reconnection with their faith and heritage.
Just a month after his abduction, Matan Angrest, still in shock, asked his captors for tefillin, a siddur, and a Chumash to maintain his spiritual connection. “I insisted on putting on tefillin and getting a siddur and Chumash,” he recalled. Remarkably, the captors complied. From that moment, prayer became his lifeline. “I prayed three times a day — morning, afternoon, and night. It protected me and gave me hope,” he said.
Bible sales are experiencing a notable global surge. In the United States, sales rose by 22% in 2024. The United Kingdom saw an increase of nearly 14% in just the first half of 2025, while Germany reported a 15% rise in 2024.
This spiritual awakening, was powerfully illustrated in President Trump’s recent address at the Knesset in Jerusalem. In a speech in which he invoked G-d twelve times, he declared, “a day to give our deepest thanks to the Almighty G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” He concluded with these words: “This is not only the end of a war; this is the end of an age of terror and death, and the beginning of the age of faith and hope and of G-d.”
The world is searching for a spiritual compass. As Jews, we bear a historic responsibility to help humanity rediscover its moral bearings and chart a path forward.
As with every story, one must begin at the beginning. Without that starting point, true perspective is impossible.
The first verse of the Bible encapsulates the foundation of all existence: “In the beginning, God created heaven and earth.” There is no universe without a Creator, just as a human being cannot live without a soul. Likewise, morality cannot endure without a transcendent source to anchor and sustain it.
As the Creator of the world, God holds the ultimate authority to bestow land as He wills. He granted the Land of Israel to the Jewish people to serve as the spiritual center of the world and a beacon of light for all humanity. Any other attempt to justify this claim is, at best, a distortion of that timeless truth, and at worst, it emboldens our enemies by legitimizing the very lies used to undermine us. History has proven that every alternative narrative has failed—spectacularly.
As Jews, we possess a profound sense of history. It is time to realign ourselves with that history, returning to the very beginning. The world is waiting — eager to hear the authentic story of the Jewish people.
