The E=mc^2 of the Soul

The Divine Paradox

This week, G-d asks us for a home on earth—a request that defies logic. If G-d is omnipresent, why does He need a "somewhere"? Why are we building for Him; shouldn’t the Infinite be building for the finite? How can a human being possibly create a space that contains the Divine?

The Einstein Insight

Einstein’s famous equation, E=mc^2, reveals a radical truth: matter and energy are not two separate realities; they are two sides of the same coin. Matter is simply "frozen" energy. Within the tiniest particle of physical mass lies a virtually infinite reservoir of power.

Unlocking Infinite Power

Just as matter hides energy, our physical self hides a spark of G-d. To unlock that infinite power, we must transcend our narrowest impulses for a broader perspective. This is the shift from "Me" to "We." When we act for the greater good and seek "win-win" outcomes, we aren’t just being kind; we are actively converting our finite lives into a dwelling place for the Infinite.

The Flashpoint of Radiance

The transition from the finite to the infinite parallels the transformation of matter into energy. It is the tension between the two that releases power. In our lives, that tension exists between the instinct for self-preservation and a dedication to a cause greater than ourselves. At this intersection - this flashpoint of choice - we unleash the Divine radiance into the world. Every time we do, G-d feels a little more at home.
