What Story Do We Tell Our Children This Passover?

As we gather at the Seder table, we begin with a bold declaration: "This year we are here; next year in the land of Israel." This year, we are closer than ever!

For 3,338 years, we have been inching toward the finish line. Throughout the ages, the Jewish people have remained a relentless source of light and hope for all humankind. We have outlasted every attempt to destroy us; we have thrived through humiliation, intimidation, persecution, and expulsion. We don't just survive—we live to tell the story.

Why are we still here?

Because we are the children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, heirs to G-d’s eternal promise of liberation and return.

But this story isn't just about the past; it is about the straits of the present. We are each a vital link in a golden chain of continuous liberation - a struggle against the forces that seek to stifle the Jewish spirit, both from within and without. As we make this final transition from the mindset of a slave to the soul of a free person, we must remember: the key to our freedom is in our hands.

Our liberation is fueled by four pillars:

  1. Pride: Standing tall in our history.

  2. Knowledge: Understanding how our people have shaped the moral fabric of civilization.

  3. Courage: Sharing this truth unapologetically with the world.

  4. Unity: Real freedom can only be achieved when all four children - regardless of their questions or their path - feel truly at home at our table.

Today, the world holds its breath. We are witnessing miracles almost unparalleled in our history. The brave men and women of the IDF, alongside our allies, are liberating the world from a modern-day tyrannical regime. Never in the history of warfare have results been so stunning. These events are a call to strengthen our faith and trust in G-d and our mission to be a light unto the nations.

We stand at the threshold of the final redemption, ready to complete the journey our ancestors began.

"This year we are slaves; next year we will be free.

This year we are here; next year in the land of Israel."
