The First Drop: Finding Authenticity in the Age of AI

As AI and robotics redefine the landscape of productivity, we are forced to redefine ourselves. This technological surge has sparked a counter-movement: a collective quest for deeper authenticity in our lives, our relationships, and the experiences we choose.

In its original Greek, authentic means 'original.' But what is our original state?

The mystics explain that we are a hybrid of two souls - the animal and the godly. It is a life of inherent tension, caught between the gravity of self-preservation and the upward pull of a purpose larger than ourselves.

In the Holy Temple, the Menorah was lit only with the purest oil. To achieve this, only the very first drop produced by the initial crushing of the olive - was used. This 'first drop' represents the essence: the most refined, unadulterated part of the fruit.

This beautifully illustrates the process by which we unleash our most authentic selves. It is the ongoing work of refining our motives - distilling them until they are pure, unadulterated, and free from the bias of narrow self-interest. Once liberated from selfish ulterior motives, we can illuminate the world with a renewed creative spirit.

This is the key to a new era of productivity—one that finally integrates a profound spiritual dimension into the fabric of everyday life.
